Curls can be difficult to get and maintain. Here are some tips to keep both your natural hair and virgin curly hair extensions in their best shape.
- Too much shampoo can strip hair of its natural oils, so limit your shampoo use to no more than thrice a week. Deep-condition your hair at least once a month to re-moisturize. Use leave-in conditioner daily or every other day and apply it while your hair is still moist. When styling with moisturizing product, apply it one section at a time for even distribution.
- Don’t use narrow-toothed combs and brushes as they make hair unruly and more prone to extensive breakage. Detangle your hair only when it’s moist and conditioned and be sure to start it in the shower. Using a wide-toothed comb, detangle from the tips going up to the roots.
- Ideally, you should let your hair dry naturally to avoid frizzing. If you’re in a hurry, however, simply blot your hair dry with a towel but avoid the rubbing and scrubbing motion. Apply the best protectant if you absolutely need heating and for best results with the least heat exposure, use a diffuser. Don’t forget to move the dryer since concentrating it in one area for a long time can cause your hair to become brittle.
Big curly hair is making a major comeback. Since it can be challenging to manage, however, you should follow the abovementioned tips to keep your curly tresses tamed and fabulous.
